LED Dance Floor Rental — The Time Nyack, Nyack NY
The challenge: An event production team booked the ballroom at The Time Nyack and wanted a dance floor that would not sit still all night. A single flat color would have read as a lit rectangle and nothing more; they wanted the floor itself to be part of the room’s look as the evening moved from reception to party.
What we delivered: A 20ft x 16ft floor — 80 of our 2ft x 2ft panels — lit in a checkerboard pattern rather than one solid color, with six LED cocktail tables around the room to match. Because the panels are individually addressable, the checkerboard could be re-colored on the fly without touching a single piece of hardware.
The same floor, a different room: The two photos below are the same 80 panels, minutes apart. Green-and-white reads clean and graphic; purple-and-white turns the same floor into something closer to a nightclub. That is the argument for a checkerboard over a solid wash — the pattern gives the color somewhere to sit, so a change of color reads as a change of mood rather than just a change of tint.
Under the floor: The third photo is the build in progress. Every panel sits in an interlocking aluminium frame that gets leveled first; the lit tops drop in afterwards. It is the least glamorous part of the day and the part that decides whether the finished floor is dead flat underfoot.
