School Fashion Show Runway — Janis Dismus Middle School, Englewood, NJ
In April 2026, the gym at Janis Dismus Middle School in Englewood, New Jersey traded basketball lines for a catwalk. A youth empowerment organization brought their fashion show program to the school — and the centerpiece was a full-size professional LED runway, scaled to the school's own gym.
The build: A 4ft x 44ft LED runway with a back T across the top — the T giving models an entrance stage to pose on before the walk, exactly like an industry show. Laid floor-level on the gym floor, ringed by folding chairs on all sides, the layout turned the whole court into a show venue in a single afternoon install.
Why floor-level for schools: A raised catwalk needs stairs, guardrails and spotters. A floor-level LED runway gives young models the same glowing stage with nothing to climb and nothing to fall from — teachers and parents watch the show, not the edges.
Night one of two: This was the Friday show of a back-to-back weekend — the next evening, the same organization ran a candyland-themed show in Camden (that build is its own story). Bergen County to South Jersey in under 24 hours: full breakdown, reload, and a second full install.
